The Mary Erskine School, popularly known as "Mary Erskine's", is an all-girls independent secondary school in Edinburgh. It was founded in 1694. The lot consists of (a) Mary Erskine, A Historical Play. Dating from 1923 it features pupils reenacting the establishment of the school with a number of photos & illustrations of the scenes. In excellent condition showing only ligt wear to the edges of the card covers. (b) A programme for the Commemoration Service at St Giles Cathedral on the occasion of the 250th Anniversary of the founding by the company of merchants of the city of Edinburgh and Mary Erskine of the Mary Erskine School for girls on Monday 5th June 1944 at 2.45pm. In excellent condition. (c) A compliment slip for the Comittee of the Merchant Maiden, good clean condition but has been folded.
