Chef/cook position – Edinburgh Curling Club – Full time and Part time
Job brief
We are pleased to announce a Chef/cook position at the Edinburgh Curling Club. This position will begin in mid-September and run through until early April working approximately 25-40 hours per week. As we are a seasonal curling rink, the menu will change every 4-6 weeks. The chef/cook will prepare food and be directed by the head chef.
Responsibilities
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
Requirements
• Proven cooking experience
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Familiar with industry’s best practices
Other information
Edinburgh Curling club is busiest curling club in Scotland. We have 1800 members and host a number of national and international events during the course of the season. Many of the meals that we offer are pre-planned set meals before or after they take to the ice but we also offer members the chance of snacks, soups, rolls etc. This is a real opportunity for a chef/cook to show the over 1800 members their expertise and quality. This is a full time position with a starting wage of £8.00 per hour.
